Description
Description
Super psyched about this coffee! As a big Gesha lover, this one is an absolute must. It has everything you crave from a washed Gesha, but feels a little more alive, a little less polished in the best possible way.
This beautiful coffee comes from Diana Quinayas, a standout grower from Los Robles, San Agustín, Colombia. Her farm, Buena Vista, is a tiny one-hectare plot perched at 1900 meters above sea level, a place where every tree, every cherry is tended by hand and by heart. Diana’s connection to the land runs deep: from childhood, she worked alongside her family, balancing school and farming, learning from the old hands of her community. It shows in every cup.
You’ll find an incredibly silky mouthfeel — no edges at all, as we like to say. The finish is long and floral, but surprisingly atypical: it almost completely lacks that familiar black tea note you often find in washed Geshas. Instead, it feels juicier than expected for a light roast, reminding us of champagne with its lightly sparkling acidity..
Think champagne, fresh lemon kefir, white grapes, and a twist of green apple skin. Bright, tartaric acidity dominates when hot, with a mouthwatering, mineral edge that shifts into soft malic notes as the cup cools. Herbals like lavender and lilac dance in the aftertaste, lifting the whole experience.
If you love clean but lively natural wines, where the beauty is in the movement and texture, not in heavy structure, this coffee will absolutely hit that same nerve.
Processing here is honest and slow: hand-harvested cherries, 40 hours of dry fermentation in mayolica tanks, gentle washing, and then a long, natural drying of 15–20 days. No yeasts, no interventions, no tricks, just trust in the land, the trees, and the work.
Massive thanks to Diana and her team for making something this alive.
This coffee was brought to us through the incredible Monkaaba project, a producer-led movement focused on true traceability and fair recognition for small farmers. With the partnership of Semilla Coffee, growers like Diana are able to access international markets on their own terms, ensuring that coffees stay personal, transparent, and rooted in their original communities.

One little hint on how to approach this coffee: This coffee has many different faces, try different approaches from smaller to wider ratios - thick bodies with almost lemon kefir associations to very elegant natural wine like cups with floral attributes like lavender and a lilac aftertaste.
